Ingredients
Fruits
- 8 cups cubed watermelon (seedless, fresh or frozen for a frostier smoothie)
- 12 ounces frozen strawberries (about 3 cups)
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 1 lemon or juice of 2 limes)
Optional
- Sweetener of choice (if fruit isn’t perfectly ripe)
- 3-5 fresh mint leaves (for garnish or added flavor)
Instructions
- Blend Watermelon: Place the cubed watermelon into a blender and blend until smooth, reducing the volume to approximately 5 cups.
- Add Strawberries and Lemon Juice: Add the frozen strawberries and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the blender, then blend again until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Serve or Refrigerate: Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately for the freshest taste, or refrigerate in a covered container for up to 1 day to enjoy chilled.
Notes
- Use frozen strawberries to make the smoothie frostier; if unavailable, fresh strawberries with ice cubes can be used.
- Adjust sweetness by adding natural sweeteners like honey, agave syrup, or maple syrup if your fruit is not ripe enough.
- Mint leaves can be added to the blender for a refreshing twist or used as garnish.
- For a thinner consistency, add a splash of cold water or juice before blending the second time.
- This smoothie is best consumed within 24 hours for optimal freshness and flavor.
