Ingredients
Carrots
- 1 pound baby carrots (see Notes for using whole carrots)
Seasonings & Oil
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). While it heats, use paper towels or a kitchen towel to pat the baby carrots dry. If using whole carrots instead of baby carrots, wash, peel, and cut them into 1-inch pieces before drying and seasoning.
- Season the Carrots: Toss the dry carrots with olive oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. This ensures they roast evenly and develop a nice flavor during air frying.
- Arrange and Cook: Lay the carrots in a single layer inside the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crisping. Air fry for 23-25 minutes, pausing halfway through to turn the carrots over or shake the basket, promoting even browning and tenderness.
- Check for Doneness and Serve: Pierce a carrot with a fork to test tenderness—the fork should slide through easily when they are done. Once cooked, transfer the carrots to a serving bowl or platter, adjust seasonings if desired, and enjoy as a nutritious and flavorful side dish.
Notes
- If using whole carrots, wash, peel, and cut into 1-inch pieces before drying and seasoning.
- Shaking the basket halfway through cooking helps achieve even browning.
- You can adjust seasoning to taste; adding herbs like thyme or rosemary pairs well.
- Cooking times may slightly vary depending on carrot size and air fryer model.
