Ingredients
Fruits
- 1/4 watermelon (scooped into balls, or cut into 1 inch pieces)
- 1 pineapple (cut into 1 inch pieces)
- 2 lbs strawberries (sliced)
- 2 bananas (sliced)
- 1 can mandarin oranges (drained)
- 1 cup green grapes (halved)
- 1 cup red grapes (halved)
- 3 kiwis (cut into 1 inch pieces)
- 1 cup blueberries
Dressing
- Juice from 2 large limes
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp poppyseeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Fruit: Wash and dice all of your fruit into bite-sized pieces and add them to a large mixing bowl. This creates the colorful base of your salad.
- Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, combine the lime juice and honey. Stir until the honey is completely dissolved; you can microwave the dressing for 10 seconds to help this process. Then, add the poppyseeds and mix well.
- Toss the Salad: Pour the honey-lime dressing over the prepared fruit in the large bowl. Gently toss everything together so each piece of fruit is coated evenly with the dressing.
- Chill and Marinate: For optimal flavor, refrigerate the fruit salad for a few hours. This allows the fruits to absorb the tangy dressing and lets the flavors meld together beautifully.
- Serve and Enjoy: After chilling, serve the fruit salad cold as a refreshing and healthy snack or dessert.
Notes
- You can substitute the honey with agave syrup or maple syrup for a vegan version.
- For added texture, sprinkle some chopped nuts like almonds or walnuts before serving.
- Adjust the amount of lime juice and honey to your taste preference.
- Use fresh fruits in season for the best flavor and quality.
- This salad is best enjoyed within 24 hours to ensure freshness.
