Ingredients
Gingerbread Layer
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 7 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup dark molasses
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground all-spice
Vanilla Layer
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
- 7 oz sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare baking dish: Line a 9×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper or foil, and grease it slightly to prevent sticking. Set aside. This preparation is important for easy removal of the fudge later.
- Make gingerbread layer: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 2 cups white chocolate chips, 7 oz sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. Heat in the microwave for 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds until the mixture is melted and smooth. Stir in 1/4 cup dark molasses and the spices: 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon allspice. Mix well and set aside.
- Make vanilla layer: In another microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips, 7 oz sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons unsalted butter. Heat for 1 minute in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Assemble fudge: Pour half of the vanilla fudge into the prepared baking dish, spreading it into an even layer. Carefully pour the gingerbread layer over the vanilla layer. Then drop the remaining vanilla fudge in dollops on top of the gingerbread layer.
- Create swirl pattern: Using a knife or toothpick, gently swirl the vanilla and gingerbread layers together to create a marbled effect without fully mixing them.
- Set fudge: Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until the fudge is firm and set.
- Serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the dish by pulling up the foil or parchment paper. Slice into squares and enjoy your festive gingerbread swirl fudge!
Notes
- Make sure to prepare the gingerbread layer first because it sets slower than the vanilla layer.
- Use high-quality white chocolate chips for the best flavor and texture.
- For easier slicing, let the fudge sit at room temperature for a few minutes before cutting.
- Store the fudge covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- Optional: Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts into the gingerbread layer for extra texture.
