Ingredients
Fruits
- 24 oz. fresh cranberries (about 6 cups)
- 16 oz. fresh strawberries
Spices and Sweetener
- 1½ tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp. ground cloves
- ¼ tsp. ground ginger
- 2 cups brown sugar
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add all the cranberries, strawberries, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and brown sugar into a slow cooker. Stir well to evenly mix all the ingredients.
- Cook: Set the slow cooker to HIGH and cook the mixture for 4 hours. Important: Do not open the lid during the entire cooking process to ensure proper cooking and thickness.
- Blend the Jam: When cooking is complete, transfer the cooked fruit mixture into a blender or use an immersion blender to pulse until the mixture reaches a jam-like consistency. Be careful not to overblend to avoid turning it into cranberry butter.
- Cool and Store: Let the jam cool completely as it will thicken further due to the natural pectin in cranberries. Once cooled, store in jars or containers for serving or gifting.
Notes
- Makes approximately 6-7 cups of jam.
- The jam thickens as it cools, thanks to the natural pectin in cranberries.
- Do not open the slow cooker lid during the cooking process to maintain proper consistency.
- Use an immersion blender if preferred to help control the jam texture better.
