Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking the pizza bowl.
- Combine Cottage Cheese and Sauce: In an oven-safe dish, mix 16 ounces of low-fat cottage cheese with 1 cup of marinara or pizza sauce until well combined for the pizza base.
- Add Seasonings: Incorporate 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and salt and pepper to taste. Toss all ingredients to distribute flavors evenly.
- Add Cheese Toppings: Sprinkle 1 cup of part-skim mozzarella cheese evenly over the cottage cheese mixture. Then, optionally, add ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
- Add Additional Toppings: Top the mixture with ¼ cup of sliced black olives and 8-10 slices of turkey pepperoni or mini pepperoni to add savory and tangy notes.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the dish is heated through.
- Finish and Garnish: Remove from the oven and, if desired, sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil on top for a fresh finish.
- Serve: Serve the cottage cheese pizza bowl hot alongside 2 cups of pita or pretzel chips or fresh mini peppers. Enjoy your gluten-free, delicious meal!
