4.1 from 4 reviews

This easy chocolate orange fudge recipe uses just 5 simple ingredients and takes only minutes to prepare. It’s smooth, creamy, and perfectly balances rich chocolate with bright orange flavor, making it a delicious treat to satisfy your sweet tooth.

  • Total Time: 41 minutes
  • Yield: 36 servings

Ingredients

Chocolate Layer

  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk

Orange Layer

  • 1 cup white baking chips
  • ^4⁄4 cup sweetened condensed milk (remaining amount)
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract
  • 2 to 3 drops orange food coloring (preferably gel or oil based)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: If desired, line an 8×8-inch pan with aluminum foil to easily remove the fudge later. Spray the foil with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Make Chocolate Layer: Combine the 12 ounces of chocolate chips and 1 cup of condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue heating in 20-second intervals, stirring each time, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. Spread the smooth chocolate mixture evenly in the prepared pan and refrigerate while preparing the orange layer.
  3. Make Orange Layer: In another microwave-safe bowl, combine 1 cup of white baking chips and the remaining condensed milk. Microwave on high in the same manner as the chocolate layer, stirring in between, until smooth. Once melted, stir in the orange extract and orange food coloring until evenly incorporated. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled chocolate layer.
  4. Set Fudge: Return the pan to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes, or until the fudge is completely set and firm enough to cut.
  5. Store and Serve: Once set, cut the fudge into 36 squares. Store in an airtight container in a cool place for up to 3 weeks.

Notes

  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips work best, but you can substitute with dark or milk chocolate chips based on your preference.
  • Using gel or oil-based food coloring helps maintain the texture of the fudge better than liquid coloring.
  • Lining the pan with foil makes removing the fudge easier and prevents sticking.
  • Ensure not to overheat the chocolate layers in the microwave; stirring between intervals prevents burning and ensures smoothness.
