Ingredients
Cheese Foam Topping
- 1 oz (28 g) cream cheese (room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (cold)
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1.5 teaspoons vanilla sugar (or white sugar, powdered sugar, etc.)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (use just a pinch if topping unsweetened milk tea)
Instructions
- Prepare cream cheese: Place room temperature cream cheese into a small mixing bowl to ensure it whips easily without lumps.
- Add sugar and salt: Add the vanilla sugar and salt to the cream cheese to provide sweetness and balance the flavor.
- Whip cream cheese: Using a hand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, start whipping the cream cheese on low speed and then increase to high until the mixture becomes light and fluffy.
- Add heavy cream: Pour the cold heavy cream into the whipped cream cheese mixture and continue whipping until the mixture is light, fluffy, and well combined.
- Add milk gradually: Slowly add the milk a little at a time while whipping, until the topping reaches a light, fluffy, foamy, and pourable consistency suitable for topping milk tea.
- Serve: Use a spoon or ladle to scoop the cheese foam and add it atop your prepared milk tea for an indulgent creamy finish.
Notes
- Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for smooth whipping.
- Cold heavy cream helps incorporate air better, resulting in a fluffier topping.
- Adjust sugar level based on your milk tea sweetness preference.
- If topping unsweetened milk tea, reduce salt to a pinch to maintain balance.
- This cheese foam is best served fresh but can be refrigerated briefly; whisk again before use if separated.
