Ingredients
Ice Cream Base
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons bubblegum flavoring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- Pink or red food coloring, to desired color
Add-ins and Decoration
- 1/2 cup confetti sprinkles
- 1 cup gumballs, for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare Ice Cream Bowl: Chill your ice cream machine’s bowl for at least 24 hours or until solid, ensuring no water movement inside when shaken.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, bubblegum flavoring, vanilla extract, and kosher salt.
- Whisk Mixture: Whisk the mixture for 2-3 minutes until sugar dissolves completely; test by rubbing a small amount between fingers to ensure no granules remain.
- Add Coloring: Incorporate pink or red food coloring gradually, stopping when your desired bubblegum pink shade is achieved.
- Churn Ice Cream: Pour the mixture into the chilled ice cream machine bowl and churn according to manufacturer instructions, approximately 25 minutes, until the consistency reaches soft-serve thickness.
- Incorporate Sprinkles: During the last two minutes of churning, add the confetti sprinkles, saving one tablespoon for topping.
- Transfer and Top: Spoon the churned ice cream into a shallow container or loaf pan, then sprinkle the reserved confetti sprinkles on top.
- Freeze Until Firm: Press plastic wrap or wax paper directly onto the surface to prevent ice crystals, and freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
- Serve: Allow the ice cream to sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before scooping. Serve with gumballs on the side for extra fun and decoration.
Notes
- Make sure the ice cream bowl is fully frozen to ensure proper churning and texture.
- Adjust food coloring carefully to reach the perfect bubblegum pink without overpowering flavor.
- For best flavor, use high-quality bubblegum flavoring specifically designed for food.
- Stir in sprinkles at the end to keep them colorful and crunchy within the ice cream.
- Letting the ice cream soften slightly before scooping makes serving easier and enhances texture.
