Ingredients
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1½ cups heavy cream
1 tbsp butter
3 tbsp hazelnut liqueur (or to taste)
2 tbsp chopped toasted hazelnuts (optional)
For serving: pound cake, strawberries, biscotti, pretzels, bananas
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe bowl or large measuring cup, combine chocolate chips, heavy cream, and butter.
- Microwave for 2 minutes. Remove and whisk until smooth.
- Add hazelnut liqueur to taste and whisk until fully combined.
- Transfer to a serving bowl or fondue pot. Top with chopped toasted hazelnuts if desired.
- Serve warm with your choice of dippers.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to a week; reheat in the microwave.
Notes
- Substitute hazelnut liqueur with coffee, chocolate, almond, or raspberry liqueur.
- For a non-alcoholic version, use 1–2 tsp vanilla, almond, or hazelnut extract instead.
- Make sure to stir thoroughly for a silky texture.
