Ingredients
Biscuit and Cheese
- 16.3 ounce can Grands style biscuits
- 16 cubes cheddar cheese (3/4″ x 3/4″)
Butter Topping
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Finishing Touches
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the proper temperature for baking the cheese balls evenly.
- Prepare Biscuits: Cut each biscuit in half crosswise using a serrated knife to create a perfect size for wrapping the cheese cubes.
- Arrange Biscuits: Lay the biscuit halves on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Insert Cheese Cubes: Place one cube of cheddar cheese into the center of each biscuit piece, preparing for sealing.
- Seal Biscuits: Fold the biscuit dough around the cheese cube, pinching the seams tightly to enclose the cheese inside.
- Place on Baking Sheet: Position each sealed biscuit seam side down on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart, allowing space for expansion. You may bake in batches if needed.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Microwave until the butter is fully melted and can be brushed easily.
- Brush and Sprinkle: Brush 3 tablespoons of the garlic butter over the tops of the cheese balls and then sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese over them to add flavor and texture.
- Reserve Butter: Keep the remaining tablespoon of garlic butter aside for finishing after baking.
- Bake Cheese Balls: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the biscuits turn lightly browned. Take care not to overbake to avoid cheese spilling out.
- Final Brush and Garnish: Once baked, brush the remaining garlic butter over the cheese balls and sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately while warm and gooey.
Notes
- Make sure to pinch the biscuit dough seams tightly to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.
- If baking in batches, keep cooked cheese balls warm in a low oven or covered foil.
- You can substitute cheddar with other cheeses like mozzarella or pepper jack for variety.
- Use fresh parsley for garnish to add a pop of color and fresh flavor.
- Serve these cheese balls hot for the best gooey cheese experience.
