Quick and easy puff pastry apple rolls filled with a warm cinnamon-apple mixture. Golden, crisp, and ready in just 35 minutes, they’re the perfect dessert or snack for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

500 g puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)

2 medium apples, peeled and grated

20 g sugar (adjust to taste)

1 tsp (5 g) cinnamon

20 g melted butter (optional, for extra softness)

Zest of ½ lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare filling: In a bowl, mix grated apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon zest. Stir in melted butter if using.
  3. Spread filling: Roll out puff pastry and spread the apple mixture evenly over it.
  4. Shape rolls: Roll pastry into a tight log and cut into 2–3 cm slices.
  5. Bake: Arrange slices on the prepared tray and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  6. Finish: Dust with powdered sugar while still warm before serving.

Notes

  • Add raisins, walnuts, or pecans for extra crunch and flavor.
  • Freeze unbaked rolls and bake straight from frozen, adding a few minutes.
  • Tart apples like Granny Smith or Golden work best for flavor balance.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel sauce for indulgence.
