Ingredients

150 g flour

100 g butter, softened

50 g Comté cheese, grated

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 egg

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard and grated Comté cheese.
  5. Beat the egg and add it to the mixture, stirring until dough forms.
  6. Roll dough on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  7. Cut out biscuits with a round cutter and place on prepared baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds on top, if using.
  9. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and firm.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.
