This refreshing Jamaican Style Carrot Juice is a sweet and creamy beverage made by blending fresh carrots with water, then mixing in condensed milk, vanilla, and nutmeg for a delightful tropical twist. Perfect as a cooling drink served chilled or over ice, and optionally spiked with rum for an adult version.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs carrots
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 (14 oz) can condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Rum (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Carrots: Peel the carrots and chop them into 2-inch pieces to facilitate blending.
  2. Blend Carrots and Water: Add the chopped carrots along with 5 cups of water to a blender. Blend on high speed for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Strain the Juice: Place a fine mesh strainer over a large pitcher. Pour the blended mixture through the strainer, allowing the juice to fall into the pitcher and keeping the carrot pulp in the strainer. Discard the pulp or save it for another use.
  4. Add Flavorings: To the strained juice in the pitcher, add the condensed milk, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  5. Serve: Refrigerate the juice to chill or serve immediately over ice. Optionally, add a splash of rum for an adult version. Enjoy your refreshing Jamaican Carrot Juice!

Notes

  • You can save the carrot pulp for baking or soups to avoid waste.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of condensed milk to taste.
  • For a vegan version, substitute condensed milk with coconut milk and sweetener of choice.
  • Serve chilled for best refreshing taste.
  • Adding a pinch of cinnamon can complement the warm spices.
