Ingredients
Tea Base
- ¾ cup hot water
- 1-2 Earl Grey Tea bags or 1-2 tablespoons loose leaf Earl Grey tea (preferably 2)
Sweetener & Flavor
- 1-2 teaspoons honey or vanilla simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Milk
- ¾ cup steamed milk (whole milk, oat milk, soy milk, or almond milk)
Optional Garnish
- Dried lavender
Instructions
- Boil Water: Set a tea kettle to boil water until it reaches a rolling boil.
- Steep Tea: Place 1-2 Earl Grey tea bags (or loose leaf in a tea infuser) into a 12-ounce mug. Pour ¾ cup boiling water over the tea and let it steep for 4 minutes to extract the rich flavors.
- Heat and Froth Milk: While the tea is steeping, warm ¾ cup milk over medium heat in a small saucepan. Whisk or froth the milk using a mini frother or whisk until warm and slightly foamy.
- Combine Flavorings: Remove the tea bags from the mug. Stir in 1-2 teaspoons of honey or vanilla simple syrup and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract to sweeten and flavor the tea.
- Add Milk: Pour the steamed or frothed milk gently into the tea, blending the flavors together to create a smooth and creamy latte.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish the latte with a sprinkle of dried lavender for an elegant touch. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- Adjust the number of tea bags and sweetener according to your taste preference.
- Use your preferred milk type such as whole, oat, soy, or almond based on dietary needs.
- Vanilla simple syrup can be homemade or store-bought; substitute honey if desired.
- For a stronger lavender flavor, infuse some dried lavender during tea steeping but avoid overpowering the Earl Grey flavor.
- This recipe serves one but can be easily scaled up for multiple servings.
