Blueberry Lemonade is a refreshing homemade drink that blends tart lemon juice with sweet blueberries for a vibrant, fruity summer beverage. With its striking purple color and customizable sweetness, it’s perfect for hot days, parties, or family gatherings.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes (includes chilling)
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

¾ cup fresh lemon juice (from about 56 lemons)

¾ cup sugar (or honey/agave as substitute)

1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1 cup hot water

4 cups cold water

Ice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine lemon juice, sugar, blueberries, and hot water. Blend until smooth and sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour mixture into a pitcher. For a smoother drink, strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
  3. Stir in cold water until well mixed.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour for best flavor.
  5. Serve over ice with lemon slices or extra blueberries as garnish.

Notes

  • For a pulp-free version, strain the mixture before adding cold water.
  • Use frozen blueberries for a naturally chilled drink.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar, honey, or agave.
  • Great for making ahead—flavors improve after chilling.
