Healthy Iced Tea is a light, citrus-infused, and naturally sweetened beverage made with real brewed tea, maple syrup, lemon, lime, and sparkling water. Refreshing, hydrating, and bubbly, it’s a healthier alternative to sugary sodas and bottled teas.

Ingredients

6 cups water

2 tablespoons loose leaf black tea or 6 tea bags

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 large lemon

1 large lime (plus more for garnish, optional)

1 can club soda or sparkling water

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, bring water to a boil. Remove from heat, add tea, stir, and steep until cooled or lukewarm.
  2. Strain into a large pitcher to remove tea leaves or bags.
  3. Stir in maple syrup. Squeeze juice of lemon and lime into the tea, then drop in citrus peels.
  4. Let sit for 10 minutes, then discard peels to avoid bitterness.
  5. Refrigerate until chilled or ready to serve.
  6. Before serving, add ice and club soda. Stir and garnish with lime slices if desired.
