These Spooky Halloween Pretzels are a fun and festive treat made with pretzel twists and rods dipped in chocolate and decorated to resemble ghosts, owls, mummies, and magic wands. Perfect for Halloween parties or a weekend baking project with kids.

Ingredients

16 ounces milk or semi-sweet chocolate, melted

8 ounces high-quality white chocolate, melted

16 large pretzel twists

8 pretzel rods

Oreos

Candy eyes

Melted chocolate (for decorating)

Melted white chocolate (for decorating)

Chocolate candy melts

Black licorice

Fall M&M’s

Gold star sprinkles (optional)

Black or grey sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spooky Owls: Dip each pretzel twist in melted chocolate and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Split Oreos in half and use for eyes. Freeze 10 minutes. Add melted chocolate to center of Oreo halves, attach candy eyes, drizzle chocolate for eyebrows, add black licorice above eyes, and use an M&M for the nose. Optionally sprinkle with sanding sugar. Freeze again to set.
  2. Spooky Ghosts: Dip pretzel twists in melted white chocolate. Place on parchment-lined sheet and insert two chocolate candy melts for eyes. Freeze 10 minutes to set.
  3. Spooky Mummies: Dip pretzels in melted white chocolate and fill pretzel holes with drizzled white chocolate. Add two candy eyes. Freeze 10 minutes to set.
  4. Spooky Wands: Dip pretzel rods in chocolate and place on parchment-lined sheet. Freeze 10 minutes to set. Once set, drizzle melted chocolate in a zigzag and sprinkle with gold stars. Freeze again for 10 minutes.
