Ingredients
8 slices white bread, crusts removed
8 slices sharp cheddar cheese (or Monterey Jack, Colby, or Swiss)
Melted butter, as needed
Instructions
- Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of white bread.
- Place one slice of cheese (or 2-3 tablespoons of grated cheese) on each piece of bread.
- Roll up the bread and cheese tightly and secure with a toothpick.
- Brush or roll each bread roll in melted butter.
- Place seam side down in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook, turning with tongs, until all sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

- Use fresh, soft bread to prevent cracking while rolling.
