- 5 oz smoked salmon
Fruit Toppings
- 1 orange (premiumed)
- 1/2 cup blueberries (halved)
- 1/2 cup strawberries (sliced)
- 1/2 cup cherries (pitted and halved)
Additional Ingredients
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 sprigs mint leaves
- 2 sprigs fresh dill
- 2 tbsp fresh chives (chopped)
Instructions
- Prepare the bread: Cut the baguette into half-inch slices. For extra crunch, you can toast the slices or brush them with olive oil and bake at 400°F for a few minutes until golden.
- Spread ricotta: Generously spread whole milk ricotta cheese on each baguette slice, creating a creamy base for the toppings.
- Add toppings: Arrange toppings thoughtfully to balance flavors. Pair smoked salmon with fresh dill, cucumber slices with mint leaves, radishes with dill, and hard boiled eggs with chopped chives. For the fruit toppings (orange segments, blueberries, strawberries, and cherries), drizzle with honey for sweetness.
Notes
- You can use hen’s eggs instead of quail eggs for easier preparation.
- Toasting the baguette slices adds extra texture but can be skipped if a softer canapé is preferred.
