It’s layered with a rich custard mixture and drizzled with luscious icing, making it an indulgent treat that’s easy to prepare and perfect for gatherings or a cozy weekend morning.

  • Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Yield: 10 servings

Ingredients

Cinnamon Rolls

  • 2 cans of cinnamon rolls (12 oz each)

Custard Mixture

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare Cinnamon Rolls: Open the 2 cans of cinnamon rolls and set aside the included icing packets for later use.
  2. Cut Rolls: Cut each cinnamon roll into quarters to allow even cooking and layering.
  3. Prepare Crock Pot: Spray your crock pot with non-stick spray to prevent sticking, then place one can’s worth of quartered cinnamon rolls evenly in the bottom of the crock pot.
  4. Mix Custard: In a small bowl, whisk together 4 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon until smooth and well combined.
  5. Pour Custard: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls settled at the bottom of the crock pot.
  6. Add Remaining Rolls: Place the remaining quartered cinnamon rolls on top of the custard layer in the crock pot.
  7. Drizzle Icing: Drizzle one of the icing packets over the cinnamon rolls to infuse sweetness while cooking.
  8. Cook: Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low heat for 2 to 2 1/2 hours until the casserole is set and rolls are cooked through.
  9. Add Final Icing: Once cooked, remove the lid carefully and drizzle the remaining icing packet over the hot cinnamon roll casserole.
  10. Serve: Serve immediately for best texture and flavor, ideally with a glass of milk on the side. Enjoy your deliciously gooey cinnamon roll casserole!

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your crock pot model.
  • Be careful not to overcook as it can dry out the casserole.
  • You can substitute maple syrup with honey or brown sugar if preferred.
  • For a richer custard, use whole milk or add a splash of cream.
  • This casserole can be kept warm in the crock pot’s warming setting for up to 30 minutes before serving.
