A soothing cinnamon matcha latte recipe that combines the vibrant earthiness of matcha with warm cinnamon spices, lightly sweetened with maple syrup and creamy plant-based milk. Perfect for a quick, comforting beverage any time of day.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Matcha Mixture

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon maple syrup (optional)

Milk

  • ¼ cup plant milk or milk of choice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Matcha: Add 1 teaspoon of matcha powder to a matcha bowl or any small bowl. If you have a sifter, sift the matcha to avoid clumps. Pour in 1 cup of hot water (about 175°F or 80°C) and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk or small regular whisk until the matcha is fully dissolved and frothy.
  2. Add Cinnamon and Sweetener: Mix in ⅛ teaspoon of cinnamon powder to the matcha. If you prefer a sweeter latte, add ½ teaspoon of maple syrup and whisk again until combined.
  3. Assemble the Latte: Transfer the matcha mixture into your favorite mug. Slowly pour in ¼ cup of plant-based milk or milk of your choice over the matcha. You can gently stir to blend the milk evenly or leave it layered for a beautiful presentation.
  4. Serve: Enjoy your cinnamon matcha latte immediately while warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use water that is hot but not boiling (around 175°F or 80°C) to preserve the delicate flavor of matcha.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup according to your preference.
  • Plant-based milks such as oat, almond, or soy work well, but feel free to use regular dairy milk if preferred.
  • For a frothier latte, warm and froth the milk before adding it to the matcha mixture.
  • Whisking vigorously is key to creating a smooth and frothy matcha base.
