Ingredients
Seafood
- 4 lobster tails (6-8 oz each)
Butter Mixture
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (or Creole seasoning)
To Serve
- Lemon wedges
Instructions
- Thaw Lobster Tails: If using frozen lobster tails, place them in a pot of cold water and let thaw for 30 minutes or more until completely thawed. Afterwards, rinse the tails and pat them dry using paper towels.
- Prepare Cajun Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, and Cajun seasoning until evenly mixed. Set aside.
- Butterfly the Lobster Tails: Using sharp kitchen shears, cut down the center of the lobster tail shell from top to end, keeping the tail fin intact. Remove any vein and shell fragments, rinse, and pat dry. Carefully spread open the shell and gently lift the lobster meat upwards, separating it from the bottom shell while keeping the tail attached. Press the shell halves back together underneath the meat to allow the lobster to rest on top of the shell.
- Broil the Lobster: Place the lobster tails meat side up in an oven-safe dish. Evenly spread the Cajun garlic butter mixture over the lobster meat. Place the dish under the broiler for 10 to 12 minutes until the lobster meat turns opaque and the edges have a slight char.
- Serve: Remove the lobster tails from the oven, spoon any remaining sauce over the meat, and serve immediately with lemon wedges. Enjoy the flavorful and juicy lobster while hot.
Notes
- Ensure lobster tails are fully thawed before cooking for even broiling.
- Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to taste if you prefer milder or spicier flavors.
- Do not overcook the lobster to maintain tender and juicy meat; watch carefully as broilers vary in intensity.
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges to add a bright, citrusy finish.
- This recipe can be doubled or halved depending on the number of servings needed.
