Ingredients
Cauliflower
- 1 head of fresh cauliflower
Seasonings
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt (or salt to taste)
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Other
- 1.5 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions
- Prepare cauliflower: Trim the cauliflower and cut it into chunks about 1-2 inches in size, then place them in a large mixing bowl to be seasoned.
- Mix dry seasonings: Combine the kosher salt, smoked paprika, turmeric, cumin, ground mustard, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper in a separate bowl and set aside.
- Coat cauliflower: Toss the cauliflower chunks with vegetable oil in the large bowl, then sprinkle the seasoning mix over them. Toss thoroughly to ensure the cauliflower is evenly coated with oil and spices.
- Preheat air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (204°C) for 5 minutes to ensure proper cooking temperature and crispiness.
- Air fry cauliflower: Place the seasoned cauliflower pieces into the air fryer basket or tray in a single layer (or as evenly spread as possible). Cook at 400°F for 15 minutes, shaking or stirring the basket 2-3 times during the cook time to promote even browning and crisping.
- Serve: Once cooked to a golden brown and crispy texture, immediately remove the cauliflower from the air fryer and serve while hot for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Adjust seasoning quantities to your taste preferences, especially salt and heat level.
- Use vegetable oil or any high smoke-point oil to prevent burning during air frying.
- Leftover cauliflower can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated for a quick snack or side dish.
