Apple Cider Hawaiian Roll Donuts are an easy fall-inspired treat made with Hawaiian rolls, apple pie filling, apple cider mix, and a sweet cinnamon sugar coating. Baked instead of fried, they’re quick, cozy, and perfect for brunch or dessert.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

1 (12-count) package Hawaiian rolls

1 can apple pie filling, roughly chopped

2 packets apple cider powdered drink mix (such as Alpine)

5 tablespoons butter, melted (divided)

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Separate Hawaiian rolls. Cut a 1/2-inch slit in each roll and make a pocket.
  3. In a bowl, combine chopped apple pie filling with 1 packet of cider mix. Fill each roll with about 1 tablespoon of the mixture.
  4. Brush rolls with 4 tablespoons of melted butter and arrange on prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake 12–14 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Mix remaining cider packet, sugar, and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter separately.
  7. Brush baked rolls with melted butter, then roll in sugar mixture to coat.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Air fry at 350°F for 8–10 minutes for a quicker option.
  • Drizzle with cream cheese glaze or caramel for extra indulgence.
  • Try other fillings like cherry, peach, or pumpkin.
  • Mix chopped nuts into the filling for crunch.
  • Best enjoyed warm, but store leftovers in an airtight container.
